So, I've been thinking about starting a blog for a while now and I finally decided to stop thinking and just do it. It seemed like a great fit for me because I enjoy writing for non-academic purposes. When I was in high school I wrote a 200+ page journal. Luckily for me, coming up with the blog name was easy because I have a million and one notes on my phone about the most random things. One of them from over 3 years ago reads "name of future blog... all the things I can't say".
Starting this blog was therapeutic for me. Something to take my mind off the reality of graduating from business school in a few months and life in general. All The Things I Can’t Say is a collection of my experiences, interests and thoughts. Here's hoping that my experiences are diverse enough to appeal to you guys.
I just came back from getting drinks with a potential mentor at the Royal Exchange London (pictured above). It was our first meeting since we connected but in my head she had the juice. She was going to help me get my foot in the door for my dream job in a matter of hours. LOL. I really thought it was that easy. But anyway, I left knowing the obvious which is that I need to keep applying and there's no secret to getting hired. Honestly, I had given up, so it was great to hear it from her. She said something which stood out because I had completely forgotten about it. Basically, I have time to make mistakes and to explore different activities/career options before settling into one. Being reminded of this made me feel better about where I am in life right now.
I wasn't sure about making the blog public, but in the end, I didn't want to be selfish with my thoughts and especially the hours I spent designing it and going through different shades of pink. If you're still reading, WELCOME! and thank you for visiting ATTICS today. I trust you'll become a regular, in which case you can look forward to a mix of serious (commercial awareness & career related) as well as light-hearted (travel, beauty, fitness ) posts.
If there are any topics you want to read about, I'd love to hear from you. So let me know!
Oops I said it 🙊,
